Car Parking

Over the last few months, there have been a fair number of cars in the church car park which are unconnected with the church. Unauthorised parking prevents access for those using the church and hall, with appointments at the presbytery, can cause distress to mourners, and adds to the wear and tear of facilities to which they do not contribute. It is also has to be said that when asked about their parking, reactions from the offending parties is often less than polite!

Reasonable use by parishioners with business at the church, hall or presbytery is welcome, as is occasional use outside these times by regular attendees. However, it is asked that parishioners do not abuse the privilege and think before using the car park. To those suspected of using the car park without permission a notice will be put on their car asking them to clarify their status and to make other arrangements, if they have no permission. If this notice is ignored a second notice, more formally laying out correct and reasonable procedure, will be put on the vehicle. If this is ignored, then all possible and legal action will be taken against the perpetrator. Fr Tom regrets this action but has no other choice, given the damage caused by wear and tear, and by the attitude of some of those who park without permission.
