National Prisoners Week

Prisoners Week 2025 will soon be upon us. The official launch service will take place on November 16th in Perth.

The theme of this year’s programme is “Crossroads: What Next?” The justice system seems to be creaking at the seams, and the hope is that our theme will encourage policy makers and practitioners to consider what changes need to take place. We also have a supply of leaflets and posters – if you would like these posted to you, please email Kenneth.mcgeachie@prisons.gov.scot with the numbers you need.

In addition, we are pleased this year that the Quaker Society are putting on an event, under the Prisoners Week banner. This is an on-line event (on Zoom) and will include discussion and presentations, including from Emma Jardine from the Howard League for Prison Reform. This is sure to be an interesting and stimulating conversation – so again please feel free to circulate to those interested.
