Day One – Coach from Hotel Olympia Terme, Montegrotto, to Venice – join private boats charter for a one day excursion to the heart of Venice. The pilgrims set sail from the Tronchetto for the Basilica of San Giorgo Maggiore on the Isola San Giorgo Maggiore for Mass followed by the accent of the campanile to enjoy breathtaking views of the city.
Lunch was at the Ristorante da Alvise, Fundamente Nuova.
Plans for a short prayer service at St Mark’s Basilica were cut short by a thunderstorm that cleared the square and left the cloistered walkways impassable thanks to the throngs of tourists sheltering from the rain.
Returning to Montegrotto for dinner, the pilgrims reflected on a wonderful day
