Catholic schools

St John's R.C. Academy, Perth

St John’s R.C. Academy, provides Catholic education for pupils from nursery through primary and secondary. The present school opened in 2010,  in the 175th anniversary year of the original parish school, St John's, from which St Columba's High School and St John's Primary and Nursery evolved in 1967. The brand new building sees the reunion of the these schools and will cater for pupils from ages 3-18. Primary and nursery classes will remain at their current primary building in Stormont Street until their new accommodation is completed towards the end of 2011.

The school is supported by Perth and Kinross Council, led by our Executive Director of Education and Children’s Services, John Fyffe. The council provides a range of services to support our pupils’ learning and to improve their achievements.

Parents and carers are members of the school community too. The partnership between pupils, staff, parents and chaplains is at the heart of the school community. As a Catholic school, the aim is to provide a Christian atmosphere of love and care in which pupils feel secure and able to seek help and advice. With everyone working positively to help each other, pupils are encouraged to achieve to the best of their ability.
